Georgia has always enjoyed doing sketches in her art journals. At school she studied art to a senior level which enabled her to participate in several art camps. Her work has developed to encompass the use of calico, image transfer, ink, charcoal, pastel and acrylics. She loves the addition of calico to canvas as it gives a further interest and dimension to her work.
Georgia best describes her work as a form of abstracted reality. She is influenced by the work of Francis Bacon and David Lynch. Thus her work tends to portray the darker side of life.
Georgia has a particular interest in exploring the feelings and emotions of mental illnesses and how people struggle daily to be happy or even stay alive. She has found the use of a restricted palette in this instance helps to create a dark and solemn mood.
