Artists Afloat 2012 Art Prize 28th April 2012

Theme – ‘Clear Water – Conservation and Restoration’

Students under 18 years of age were invited to submit up to 3 art works to exhibit with Artists Afloat at the Art Factory Gallery in Brisbane.

It was a great opportunity for young artists to gain experience by submitting work to the  competition and the successful entrants had a chance to have their first professional exhibition on their ARTIST CV!

A prize to the value of $200 was awarded to each of the under 18 female and under 18 male artists for their winning entry, inspired by the theme ‘Clear Water – Conservation and Restoration’, as well as art workshops for each of the two encouragement awards and a prize to the value of $200 was awarded for the people’s choice award.

Best under 18 female prize went to Erica Dunkley from Brisbane State High School

Best under 18 male prize went to Tylor Elmsly from Redcliffe State High School

Two encouragement awards went to Alexandria Harris and Brianna Cameron who both came from St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School, and the ‘people’s choice’ award went to Alexandria Harris.

With 60 attendees at the event, the students received great enthusiasm from the crowd and cheers when the awards were announced.
